Description

This rustic vegetable tart with tuna is an absolute delight! I especially like to make it in the summer when the vegetables are fresh from the market. The combination of sweet peppers, spicy onions and savory tuna is simply unbeatable. A touch of chili provides a certain spiciness. The preparation is a bit more complex, but the result is worth it. Perfect for a leisurely lunch with friends or as a savory dinner. The tart tastes both warm and cold and can be prepared well in advance. A true Mediterranean classic that is always well received by us!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 5 piece Bell pepper
  • 2 piece Onion
  • 2 can Tuna
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 pinch Chili pepper
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 1 can Tomato pulp
  • 2 pâte feuilletée(s) Puff pastry
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Pepper

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare peppers

Wash, halve and core the peppers. Then roast the peppers on a baking sheet under the grill until the skin turns black. Place the peppers in a bowl and cover with a damp cloth. After about 10 minutes, peel off the skin and cut the peppers into pieces. No Thermomix setting in this step.

Chop onions

Put 2 onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Push down with the spatula.

Sauté onions

Thermomix® Setting

Add some oil to the mixing bowl with the chopped onions and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add vegetables and tomato paste

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Add the prepared pepper pieces, 1 can of tomato paste, paprika powder, chili, salt and pepper to the mixing bowl and cook for 15 min./100°C/speed 1.

Add tuna

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add 2 cans of tuna (note drained weight) to the mixing bowl and stir in for 3 min./100°C/reverse rotation speed 1.

Cover tart

Place a roll of puff pastry in a tart pan. Spread the tuna and vegetable mixture on top. Cover with the second roll of puff pastry. Pierce a hole in the middle.

Brush and bake tart

Whisk 1 egg and brush the tart with it. Bake the tart in a preheated oven at 200°C for 40 minutes until golden brown. No Thermomix setting in this step.
