Description

This recipe shows how to make a delicious and vegan tofu from red lentils. The preparation is simple and succeeds in no time with the Thermomix®. The lentil tofu is high in protein, gluten-free and is ideal as a main course or side dish. Perfect for student cuisine and anyone looking for a cheap and healthy alternative to conventional tofu.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 100 g red lentils
  • 250 ml Water
  • Salt
  • Corn starch
  • Oil

Preparation (6 steps)

Soak lentils

Cover 100 g red lentils with water and soak overnight.

Purée lentils

Add soaked lentils together with 250 ml water and salt to the mixing bowl and purée.

Heat and thicken lentil mixture

Return the puréed lentil mixture to the mixing bowl and heat, stirring, until it thickens. Leave the measuring cup on.

Chill lentil mixture

Pour the thickened lentil mixture into a baking dish and refrigerate until firm.

Prepare tofu

Cut the solidified lentil tofu into cubes and mix with some corn starch, oil and salt.

Bake tofu

Spread the prepared lentil tofu on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 15 minutes.
