This chocolate cake with dark ganache is a true delight for all chocolate lovers! I especially like to bake it when it's cold outside and you're craving something sweet.   • 150 g Chocolate Dark
  • 250 g Butter, soft
  • 5 piece Egg(s)
  • 120 g Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 3 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 100 g Chocolate Dark
  • 100 g Cream

Preparation (10 steps)

Melt chocolate and butter

Thermomix® Setting
4 min/122°F/Speed 2 50

Add 150 g dark chocolate in pieces and 250 g soft butter to the mixing bowl and melt for 4 min./50°C/speed 2.

Let the chocolate-butter mixture cool

Pour the chocolate-butter mixture from the mixing bowl and let it cool slightly.

Whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/Speed 4

Add 5 eggs and 120 g sugar to the mixing bowl and whisk until fluffy for 3 min./speed 4.

Mix dry ingredients

Mix 2 tbsp flour, 3 tbsp cocoa powder and 1 tsp baking powder in a separate bowl.

Stir in dry ingredients and chocolate mixture

Thermomix® Setting
15 sec/Speed 3

Add the flour mixture to the egg-sugar mixture in the mixing bowl and stir in for 15 sec./speed 3. Add the cooled chocolate-butter mixture and stir in for another 15 sec./speed 3.

Bake dough

Pour the dough into a greased and floured springform pan (approx. 20 cm diameter) and bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C circulating air for approx. 30 minutes. Do a chopstick test.

Let the cake cool

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely.

Prepare ganache

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 8

Add 100 g dark chocolate in pieces to the mixing bowl and chop for 10 sec./speed 8.

Finish ganache

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/122°F/Speed 2 50

Leave the chopped chocolate in the mixing bowl and add 100 g cream. Melt for 3 min./50°C/speed 2.

Pour ganache over the cake

Let the ganache cool slightly and then pour evenly over the cooled cake.
