Description

This chocolate cake with cola glaze is a real eye-catcher on any coffee table! I especially like to bake it for birthdays because it is so juicy and chocolatey. The combination of cola in the dough and in the glaze makes it something special. The pecan nuts give the cake a nice crunch. The preparation is super easy and quick with the Thermomix®. An absolute must for all chocolate lovers! It tastes best when it is still slightly warm.

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 150 g Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 100 g Butter
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 75 ml Cola
  • 75 ml Buttermilk
  • 2 piece Egg(s)
  • 0.5 Flasche Butter-vanilla flavor
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 100 g Pecan nuts
  • 50 g Butter
  • 400 g Icing sugar
  • 100 ml Cola

Preparation (7 steps)

Mix dry ingredients

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 4

Put 150 g flour and 1 tsp baking powder into the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec/speed 4. Then transfer.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Speed 4

Put 200 g sugar, 100 g butter, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 75 ml cola, 75 ml buttermilk, 2 eggs and 0.5 bottle butter-vanilla flavor into the mixing bowl and stir for 2 min/speed 4. Add the flour-baking powder mixture from step 1 and stir in for another 30 sec/speed 4.

Bake dough

Place a baking frame (20 x 20 cm) on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, pour in the dough and smooth it out. Bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Remove baking frame and paper, place cake on a wire rack.

Chop pecan nuts

Thermomix® Setting

Put 100 g pecan nuts into the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec/speed 5. Transfer.

Prepare glaze

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Put 50 g butter, 1 tbsp cocoa powder and 100 ml cola into the mixing bowl and heat for 3 min/100°C/speed 2.

20 sec/Speed 3

Add 400 g icing sugar and stir for 20 sec/speed 3.

Glaze cake

Pour the hot glaze over the warm cake and sprinkle with the chopped pecan nuts.
