Description

This Thermomix® spelt honey cake with orange is a moist cake made with spelt flour, honey, and fresh orange. It is ideal as a breakfast cake or winter dessert. Preparation takes about 55 minutes, with 20 minutes of active work, and yields 12 servings. The recipe is easy to implement and perfect for the whole family.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 1 etwas Butter for the pan
  • 1 Stück Organic orange
  • 120 g Butter (softened)
  • 250 g Honey (liquid)
  • 2 Stück Eggs (size M)
  • 350 g Spelt flour Type 630
  • 1 EL Baking cocoa
  • 1 Pck. Baking powder
  • 1 TL Gingerbread spice
  • 1 Prise(n) Salt
  • 1 etwas Powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation (7 steps)

Preheat oven and prepare pan

Preheat the oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat. Grease a loaf pan (approx. 25 x 11 cm) with butter and set aside.

Zest orange

Wash the organic orange and zest the peel with a zester. Set the zest aside.

Mix butter, honey, eggs and orange zest

Place 120 g soft butter, 250 g liquid honey, 2 eggs (size M) and the orange zest in the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec/speed 4.

Mix dry ingredients

Add 350 g spelt flour Type 630, 1 tbsp baking cocoa, 1 packet baking powder, 1 tsp gingerbread spice and 1 pinch of salt to the mixing bowl and mix for 15 sec/speed 3.

Combine dry and wet ingredients

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec/speed 3. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula and mix again for 10 sec/speed 3.

Bake batter

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smooth it out and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes. Do a toothpick test.

Let cake cool and dust

Remove the honey cake from the pan, let it cool on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
