Description

These vanilla crescent cookies are a classic Christmas pastry that is easy to prepare. The dough consists of flour, almonds, powdered sugar, vanilla and butter. After baking, the crescents are rolled in powdered sugar and vanilla sugar. Ideal for the Advent season and as a sweet treat in between.

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 250 g Wheat flour
  • 100 g Ground almonds
  • 90 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 Stück Vanilla pod
  • 200 g Butter (cold)
  • 130 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar

Preparation (3 steps)

Prepare dough

Cut 200 g cold butter into cubes and place in a bowl. Add 250 g wheat flour, 100 g ground almonds and the scraped pulp of a vanilla pod. Sieve in 90 g powdered sugar and process to a smooth dough. Divide the dough into 2 portions and shape each into an approx. 3 cm thick dough roll. Wrap the dough rolls in cling film and place in the refrigerator for one hour.

Shape and bake crescents

Preheat the oven to 180°C top/bottom heat. Cut the dough rolls into approx. 1 cm thick slices, roll in your hand and shape into crescents. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper with some distance and bake in the preheated oven at 180°C top/bottom heat.

Roll crescents

Mix 130 g powdered sugar with 1 packet of vanilla sugar and sprinkle the still warm vanilla crescent cookies with it. As soon as they have cooled down a little, also dip the underside in the sugar mixture. Be careful, as the crescents will fall apart if they are still too hot.
