Description

This two-tone marble cake is a classic that can be easily prepared with the Thermomix®. The combination of light and dark dough creates a beautiful pattern and a delicious taste. The cake is ideal for afternoon tea or as a dessert. Preparation takes about 75 minutes and yields one cake.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 4 Stück Eggs
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 0.5 TL Vanilla
  • 135 g Milk
  • 145 g Vegetable oil
  • 280 g Flour
  • 50 g Sour cream
  • 2 TL Baking powder
  • 10 g Cocoa powder
  • 2 TL Vegetable oil

Preparation (5 steps)

Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla

Put 4 eggs, 200 g sugar and 0.5 tsp vanilla into the mixing bowl and beat for 6 min./speed 4 until the mixture is light and frothy. Do not use the butterfly/stirring attachment.

Stir in milk, oil and cream

Add 135 g milk, 145 g vegetable oil and 50 g sour cream (sour cream or cream) to the egg-sugar mixture in the mixing bowl and stir in for 20 sec./speed 3.

Mix and fold in flour and baking powder

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 3

Mix 280 g flour and 2 tsp baking powder in a separate bowl and sift. Then add the flour mixture to the mixing bowl and fold in for 30 sec./speed 3. Use a spatula to make sure everything is well mixed.

Divide dough and prepare chocolate dough

Transfer half of the dough from the mixing bowl into a separate bowl. Add 10 g cocoa powder and 2 tsp vegetable oil to the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./speed 3 until a homogeneous chocolate dough is formed.

Layer dough and bake

Grease and flour the Bundt cake pan (25 cm diameter) or a round pan (22-23 cm diameter). Alternately add light and dark dough to the mold to create a marble pattern. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (electric oven) or 180°C (gas oven) for about 50 minutes. Do a stick test.
