Description

This savory cereal snack mix is a delightful combination of crunchy textures and bold flavors. I've been making this for potlucks and game nights for years, and it's always a hit! The Worcestershire sauce and chile-garlic sauce give it a wonderful kick, while the butter and seasonings create a rich, savory base. It's incredibly easy to make, though baking time is a bit longer to get the perfect crispiness. Feel free to adjust the amount of chile-garlic sauce to your liking. Perfect for sharing with friends and family!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 6 tablespoons butter, cut into chunks
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chile-garlic sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 4 cups crispy corn cereal squares
  • 2 cups crispy wheat cereal squares
  • 2 cups small twist pretzels
  • 1.5 teaspoons white sugar

Preparation (4 steps)

Melt Butter and Combine with Sauces

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/122°F/Speed 2, 20 sec/Speed 3 50

Place the butter chunks into the mixing bowl. Melt for 1 Min./50°C/Stufe 2. Add the Worcestershire sauce, chile-garlic sauce, garlic powder, seasoned salt, and onion powder. Mix for 20 Sek./Stufe 3 until well combined.

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the crispy rice cereal, crispy corn cereal squares, and crispy wheat cereal squares. Add the small twist pretzels and white sugar. Mix well by hand.

Coat Cereal Mixture

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 2/Linkslauf Reverse

Transfer about 1/3 of the cereal mixture to the mixing bowl. Pour about 1/3 of the butter mixture over the cereal. Mix for 30 Sek./Stufe 2/Linkslauf to coat the cereal evenly. Transfer the coated cereal to a metal baking sheet, spreading into an even layer. Repeat this process with the remaining cereal and butter mixture, using additional baking sheets as needed.

Bake the Snack Mix

Preheat the oven to 120 degrees C. Bake the cereal mixture in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Stir the cereal mixture and redistribute in an even layer. Return to the oven and continue to cook, stirring and redistributing every 15 minutes, until crispy and golden, another 30 to 45 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining sugar lightly over the cereal mixture during the last 15 minutes; do not add it too early or it will burn.
