Description

This piadina with pizza style sauce and ham is a delicious and quick alternative to classic pizza. Perfect for an informal dinner or a quick lunch, this recipe is a real lifesaver when you have little time but don't want to give up taste. The pizza style sauce, prepared with tomato puree, garlic, chilli pepper and oregano, gives an intense and Mediterranean flavour. The stringy mozzarella and cooked ham complete the dish, making this piadina irresistible. Ideal for an evening with friends or for a family meal, this piadina is a guaranteed success. It prepares in less than 40 minutes!

  • 1 piece piadina
  • 45 g seasoned tomato puree
  • 100 g mozzarella
  • 44 g cooked ham
  • black olives
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • garlic
  • chilli pepper
  • Sicilian oregano
  • iodized salt
  • water

Preparation of the aromatic base

Pour a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil into the bowl. Add a clove of garlic and a pinch of chilli pepper. Sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Adding the tomato puree

Add 45 g of seasoned tomato puree and a dash of water to the bowl. Mix for 5 Sek./Stufe 2.

Flavouring the sauce

Add about two tablespoons of Sicilian oregano and a pinch of iodized salt to the bowl. Mix for 5 Sek./Stufe 2.

Cooking the pizza style sauce

Cook the sauce for 20 Min./100°C/Stufe 1, stirring gently with the spatula from time to time.

Filling the piadina

Spread the pizza style sauce on the piadina. Distribute 100 g of mozzarella cut into cubes and 44 g of cooked ham into small pieces on the piadina. Add black olives to taste.

Pan cooking

Cook the piadina in a non-stick pan over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until the mozzarella has melted and the piadina is golden brown.
