Description

This Asiatic chicken with caramel is a tasty and easy to prepare dish, perfect for a family dinner or with friends. I have been making this recipe for years and it is always a success. The chicken fillets, marinated in a soy sauce flavored with ginger and garlic, are caramelized to perfection. The basmati rice, cooked separately, goes wonderfully with this dish. A real treat for the taste buds, with an irresistible sweet and salty touch. Feel free to add a little chili to enhance the taste!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Chicken fillet(s)
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • 8 c. à soupe Soy sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • 1 c. à soupe Rice vinegar
  • 1 c. à soupe Sesame seed(s)
  • 60 g Brown sugar
  • 1 morceau Ginger
  • 500 g Basmati rice

Preparation of the marinade

Thermomix® Setting

Put the peeled onion, cut into quarters, into the Thermomix bowl and chop 3 Sec./Level 5. Add the peeled garlic and the ginger cut into pieces. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil and rice vinegar. Mix 10 Sec./Level 3.

Chicken marinade

Cut the chicken fillets into strips and place them in a container. Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken and mix well. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Rice cooking

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Speed 4 100

Put 1 liter of salted water in the Thermomix bowl. Place the basmati rice in the cooking basket and insert it into the bowl. Cook 20 Min./100°C/Level 4.

Caramel preparation

Put the brown sugar in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until it melts and takes on a blonde color. Watch carefully to prevent the caramel from burning.

Chicken cooking

In a pan, sear the marinated chicken over high heat for about 5 minutes, until golden brown on all sides. Add the marinade and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Pour the caramel over the chicken and add the sesame seeds. Simmer for 2 minutes, stirring gently, until the chicken is well coated with caramel.

Plating

Divide the basmati rice among the plates. Arrange the caramel chicken on top and serve immediately.
