Description

This hearty cabbage potato casserole is a savory dish that tastes especially good on colder days. I like to make it when I have leftover boiled potatoes from the day before. The dish is easy to prepare and the combination of spicy minced meat, cabbage and potatoes is simply delicious. Baking it in the oven gives the casserole a nice crust. If you like, you can sprinkle some grated cheese over it. A great dish for the whole family!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 250 g White cabbage
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • 200 g Boiled potato(es) from the day before
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 300 g Mixed ground meat
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1.5 tsp Paprika powder mild
  • 200 ml Vegetable broth instant
  • 1 tbsp Butter

Preparation (3 steps)

Prepare white cabbage and onion

Clean white cabbage, remove the stalk and cut into 1/2 cm wide strips. Cut onions into strips. Peel the boiled potatoes, cut into slices and salt.

Fry ground meat

Heat oil in a pan, add the ground meat and fry all over until crumbly. Add white cabbage and onions and fry for 2 minutes. Season with salt, paprika powder. Pour in vegetable broth.

Layer casserole and bake

Pour minced meat and cabbage mixture with the liquid into a large casserole dish. Spread the potato slices over the top in a fan shape and top with butter flakes. Bake in a hot oven at 220° C on the middle rack for 20 min.
