Description

These mixed chicken and sausage skewers with vegetables are an explosion of Mediterranean flavors! Perfect for a summer barbecue or a casual dinner with friends and family. The combination of tender meat and tasty sausage, interspersed with zucchini, peppers and red onion, makes each skewer a small masterpiece. The preparation is simple and quick, ideal for those who have little time but do not want to give up taste. I love them because they are colorful, tasty and can be customized with the vegetables you prefer. A delicious idea for a complete and balanced single dish!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • Chicken breast
  • Pork sausage
  • Zucchini
  • Peppers
  • Red onion
  • Extra virgin olive oil (EVO)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation (5 steps)

Preparation of the vegetables

Wash the zucchini, pepper and red onion. Cut the zucchini into slices about 2 cm thick, the pepper into squares and the onion into wedges. Set aside.

Preparation of the meat

Cut the chicken breast into cubes of about 3 cm and the sausage into pieces of similar size. Set aside.

Seasoning the ingredients

Put all the cut ingredients, both meat and vegetables, in a large bowl. Add a generous drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. Mix well with your hands to make sure each piece is flavored to perfection.

Assembly of the skewers

Thread the pieces onto the skewers, alternating meat and vegetables to create a colorful and tasty sequence. For example: a piece of pepper, a cube of chicken, a slice of zucchini, a piece of sausage, a wedge of onion, and so on until the skewer is full.

Cooking in the air fryer

Arrange the skewers in the air fryer basket, without overlapping them (if necessary, cook them in two batches). Cook at 180°C for about 20-25 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking, until the meat is well cooked and the vegetables are tender and slightly golden. Serve immediately, hot and steaming!
