Description

This Chicken Paprikash with Dumplings is a hearty main course prepared with the Thermomix®. First, an aromatic paprika sauce with chicken is prepared, while the dumplings are cooked separately. The dish is ideal for a festive lunch or dinner and offers a hearty meal for the whole family. The preparation time is about 60 minutes and is enough for 4 servings.

  • 250 g Onions
  • 40 ml Oil
  • 250 g Bell pepper
  • 20 g Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 0.5 tsp Rose paprika
  • 0.25 tsp Caraway
  • 0.25 tsp Marjoram
  • 1 piece Bay leaf
  • 250 ml Vegetable broth
  • 500 g Chicken breast fillet
  • 100 g Crème fraîche
  • 250 g Flour
  • 125 ml Milk
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg

Preparation (9 steps)

Chop onions

Place 250g onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Sauté onions

Add 40g oil to the chopped 250g onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add bell pepper and tomato paste

Add 250g bell pepper, in pieces, and 20g tomato paste to the sautéed onions in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 4.

Add spices and broth

Add 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1 tsp sweet paprika powder, 1/2 tsp rose paprika, 1/4 tsp caraway, 1/4 tsp marjoram, 1 bay leaf and 250ml vegetable broth to the remaining ingredients in the mixing bowl and cook for 15 min./100°C/speed 1.

Fry the meat

Cut 500g chicken breast fillet into bite-sized pieces and fry in a separate pan with a little oil until golden brown.

Add meat and crème fraîche

Add the fried 500g chicken breast fillet and 100g crème fraîche to the remaining ingredients in the mixing bowl and heat for 5 min./90°C/reverse speed 1. Leave the measuring cup on.

Prepare dumplings

For the dumplings, add 250g flour, 125ml milk, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 pinch of nutmeg to the mixing bowl and process for 2 min./knead stage to form a smooth dough.

Cook dumplings

Bring salted water to a boil in a saucepan. Shape small dumplings with a dumpling plane or by hand and place in the boiling water. As soon as the dumplings rise to the surface, they are cooked. Drain the dumplings and let them drain.

Arrange

Arrange and serve the Chicken Paprikash with the dumplings.
