Description

These walnut cubes, prepared in the Thermomix®, are a festive dessert with egg yolk, butter, sugar and walnuts. Spices such as cinnamon and cloves provide a Christmas aroma. The preparation takes a total of 120 minutes, the active working time is about 60 minutes. The recipe is ideal for special occasions and as a sweet treat with coffee.

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 3 Stück hard-boiled, pureed egg yolks
  • 120 g Sugar
  • 120 g Butter
  • 140 g Flour
  • 1 Messerspitze Cinnamon
  • 1 Messerspitze Cloves
  • 0.5 Stück grated zest of half an untreated lemon
  • Butter for greasing
  • Redcurrant or orange jam
  • 350 g ground walnuts
  • 2 Stück Eggs
  • 3 EL Sugar
  • 1 EL Rum
  • 150 g Chocolate coating

Preparation (11 steps)

Prepare egg yolks

Put 3 hard-boiled egg yolks in the mixing bowl and puree for 10 sec./speed 5. Scrape down with the spatula.

Prepare shortcrust pastry

Thermomix® Setting

Add 120 g sugar, 120 g butter in pieces, 140 g flour, 1 pinch of cinnamon, 1 pinch of cloves and the grated zest of half an untreated lemon to the pureed egg yolk in the mixing bowl. Process to a smooth dough with the Patix dough knife for 2 min./kneading stage.

Divide and roll out dough

Halve the dough. Roll out one half of the dough thinly and place on a greased baking tray.

Spread the jam

Spread the baking tray thinly with redcurrant or orange jam.

Prepare filling

Put 350 g ground walnuts, 2 eggs, 3 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp rum in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./speed 3.

Spread filling

Spread the filling evenly on the jam.

Place the dough lid

Roll out the remaining dough thinly and place on the filling as a lid.

Baking

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (gas mark 3) for 10 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

Prepare chocolate coating

Heat 150 g chocolate coating in the mixing bowl according to the package instructions. For example, 5 min./50°C/speed 2.

Apply glaze

Cover the cake plate thickly with the icing.

Cut into cubes

Cut the cake plate into small cubes.
