Description

Shortbread almond balls are a simple Thermomix® recipe for Christmas cookies with almonds, butter, flour and powdered sugar. Preparation takes about 45 minutes and yields approximately 30 pieces. Ideal as finger food or dessert for the whole family in the winter time. Quickly prepared and perfect for Christmas baking.

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 250 g Butter (room temperature)
  • 250 g Wheat flour (Type 405)
  • 80 g Almonds (ground)
  • 100 g Powdered sugar
  • 2 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla pudding powder (37 g)
  • 1 TL Baking powder

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare the dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Put 250 g butter (room temperature), 250 g wheat flour (Type 405), 80 g ground almonds, 100 g powdered sugar, 2 packets vanilla sugar, 1 packet vanilla pudding powder (37 g) and 1 tsp baking powder into the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min./knead setting to form a soft dough.

Portion the dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and form into a roll on a lightly floured work surface. Divide the dough roll into approx. 30 equal pieces.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 150 °C convection.

Shape the balls and bake

Shape the dough pieces into balls with cold (clean) hands and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving sufficient space between them. Bake the almond balls in the preheated oven for approx. 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Dust the balls

Let the baked almond balls cool briefly and dust with 20 g powdered sugar.
