Description

This hearty potato bake with ground meat and vegetable ragout is a comforting family meal for the cold season. The main ingredients are potatoes, ground meat, mushrooms, and celery, refined with onions and garlic. With the Thermomix®, preparation takes about 70 minutes, with an active working time of about 45 minutes. The recipe is designed for 6 servings and is ideal as a filling main course.

  • 200 g Mushrooms
  • 200 g Cherry tomatoes

  • 1 EL Tomato paste
  • 200 g Heavy cream
  • 6 Stiele Thyme
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 3 EL Butter
  • 1 Stück Egg yolk

Prepare and cook potatoes

Wash, peel, rinse, and cut 800 g of floury potatoes into approximately 2-3 cm pieces. Place the potato pieces in the mixing bowl. Add 1 tsp salt and 1 liter of water. Insert the simmering basket.

Chop onion and garlic

Place 1 peeled and quartered onion and 1 peeled clove of garlic in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec/speed 5. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Sauté onion and garlic

Add 1 tbsp oil and sauté for 3 min/120°C/speed 1.

Chop celery

Clean 4 stalks of celery, wash, cut into pieces, and place in the mixing bowl. Chop for 4 sec/speed 4. Transfer.

Drain and puree potatoes

After the cooking time, drain the potatoes (test for doneness!). Empty and dry the mixing bowl. Return the cooked potatoes to the mixing bowl. Add 200 ml milk and 3 tbsp butter. Season with salt and nutmeg. Puree for 20 sec/speed 4.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat (180°C convection).

Fill ragout in casserole dish and spread puree

Fill the ground meat and vegetable ragout into a casserole dish (approx. 20 x 30 cm) and spread the mashed potatoes on top by the spoonful.

Brush puree topping and bake

Whisk together 1 egg yolk and 2 tbsp water and brush the puree topping with it. Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes.
