Description

This Thermomix® marzipan apple cake is an autumnal baking recipe with marzipan, apples and almonds. The cake is ideal for coffee time or as a dessert. Preparation takes about 80 minutes, of which 25 minutes are active working time. The recipe yields 12 servings. Suitable for anyone who loves a moist cake with winter aromas.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 150 g Marzipan
  • 1 Stk. Apple
  • 175 g Margarine
  • 150 g Brown sugar
  • 2 Stk. Eggs
  • 200 g Flour
  • 100 g Ground almonds
  • 1 TL Ground cardamom
  • 2 TL Baking powder
  • 1 Prise Iodized salt
  • 100 ml Almond milk

Preparation (8 steps)

Chop marzipan

Place 150 g of marzipan (with chocolate or according to taste) in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec/speed 5. Transfer and set aside.

Prepare apple

Wash 1 apple (approx. 150 g), quarter and remove the core. Place apple pieces in the mixing bowl and chop for 4 sec/speed 4. Transfer and set aside.

Mix margarine and sugar

30 sec/Speed 4

Place 175 g margarine (at room temperature) and 150 g brown sugar in the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec/speed 4.

Add eggs

15 sec/Speed 3

Add 2 eggs one at a time to the mixing bowl and mix in each for 15 sec/speed 3.

Mix dry ingredients

Place 200 g flour, 100 g ground almonds, 1 tsp ground cardamom, 2 tsp baking powder and 1 pinch of iodized salt in the mixing bowl and mix for 15 sec/speed 3.

Mix dry and liquid ingredients

20 sec/Speed 3

Add the flour mixture and 100 ml almond milk alternately in 2 portions to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec/speed 3. Use a spatula to scrape everything from the edge.

Fold in apple and marzipan

Add the chopped apple and chopped marzipan to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec/Reverse speed speed 2. Use a spatula to scrape everything from the edge.

Baking

Pour the batter into a prepared springform pan (lined with baking paper or greased) and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan oven: 160 °C) for approx. 50-55 minutes. Do a toothpick test, no liquid batter should stick to the wooden stick. Let the marzipan cake cool for approx. 15 minutes and remove from the mold. Let cool completely and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
