Description

These American breakfast pancakes are an absolute classic and super easy to prepare. I often make them on the weekend for a cozy brunch with the family. The buttermilk makes them particularly fluffy and gives them a slightly sour taste that harmonizes perfectly with maple syrup. The preparation in the Thermomix® is lightning fast, so you have more time to enjoy breakfast. If you like, you can add fresh berries or chocolate chips to the dough.   • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 Prisen Salt
  • 1 piece Egg(s)
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation (5 steps)

Mix dry ingredients

Add 1 cup flour, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 0.5 tsp baking soda and 2 pinches of salt to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec/speed 4.

Prepare liquid ingredients

15 sec/Speed 3

Add 1 egg, 1 cup buttermilk and 2 tbsp oil to the mixing bowl and stir for 15 sec/speed 3.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Add the flour mixture to the liquid ingredients in the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec/speed 3 until a thick dough forms. If necessary, use the spatula to push down from the edge and stir again briefly.

Bake pancakes

Heat a pan (approx. 20 cm diameter). Add some oil to the pan. Add one ladle of dough to the hot pan and bake for about 2 minutes until golden brown on each side. The pancakes should be thick.

Serve

Serve the still warm pancakes with maple syrup or powdered sugar.
