Description

This apple cake with vanilla pudding, prepared in the Thermomix®, is a classic for coffee time. The main ingredients are apples, flour, butter, sugar and egg. Preparation takes about 85 minutes and yields 12 servings. Ideal as a dessert, main course or for festive occasions.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 250 g Wheat flour Type 405
  • 125 g soft butter
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 Stück Egg (room temperature)
  • 0.5 Pck. Baking powder
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • Fat for the springform pan
  • 7 Stück Apples (Jonagold or Boskop)
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla pudding powder
  • 400 ml Milk
  • 1 Becher Cream
  • 25 g Sugar

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare the dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Put 250 g wheat flour type 405, 125 g soft butter, 150 g sugar, 1 egg (room temperature), 0.5 pack baking powder and 1 pack vanilla sugar into the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min./kneading stage to form a homogeneous dough.

Prepare the springform pan and fill in the dough

Grease a springform pan (26 cm diameter) with fat. Place the dough in the springform pan and press it up the side to a height of approx. 2 cm.

Prepare the apples and place them on the dough

Wash 7 apples (Jonagold or Boskop) thoroughly and remove the core with an apple corer. Place the apples on the dough in the springform pan.

Prepare the pudding

In a bowl, mix 1 pack of vanilla pudding powder and 25 g of sugar with 5 tablespoons of milk until smooth.

Cook the pudding

5 min/194°F/Speed 2 90

Put the remaining 400 ml of milk and 1 carton of cream into the mixing bowl and bring to the boil for 5 min./90°C/speed 2.

Finish the pudding

Add the stirred pudding powder to the mixing bowl and stir in for 20 sec./speed 3. Use the spatula to scrape down from the side.

Pour the pudding over the apples

Pour the pudding evenly over the apples in the springform pan.

Bake the cake

Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 °C top/bottom heat on the lowest rack for 40-50 minutes. Cover after 40 minutes so that it does not get too brown. Leave to cool in the oven.
