Description

With the Thermomix®, these chocolate fir trees made from margarine, chocolate, eggs and brown sugar are made in no time at all. The Christmas cake is a festive dessert or finger food for the winter time. Preparation takes about 70 minutes, the working time is 40 minutes. The recipe yields 24 servings and is ideal for the whole family.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 200 g Margarine
  • 250 g Bittersweet or dark chocolate
  • 5 Eggs
  • 350 g Brown sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 250 g Flour
  • 40 g Baking cocoa (low-fat cocoa powder, unsweetened)
  • 1 TL Baking powder
  • 2 Prisen Iodized salt
  • 150 g Powdered sugar
  • Green food coloring
  • 24 Stück Colorful candy canes (or straws)

Preparation (12 steps)

Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection: 160 °C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or place a baking frame on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This happens outside of the Thermomix.

Melt margarine and chocolate

Put 200 g margarine and 250 g bittersweet or dark chocolate into the mixing bowl and melt for 5 min./50°C/speed 2.

Separate eggs

Separate one egg, refrigerate the egg white, it will be needed later. This happens outside of the Thermomix.

Beat sugar and eggs

Put 350 g brown sugar, 1 packet vanilla sugar, egg yolk and the remaining 4 eggs into the mixing bowl and beat with the butterfly for 3 min./speed 3.5 until creamy.

Stir in chocolate-margarine mixture

20 sec/Speed 3

Add the melted margarine-chocolate mixture from the mixing bowl and stir in for 20 sec./speed 3.

Mix dry ingredients and stir in

Put 250 g flour, 40 g baking cocoa, 1 tsp baking powder and 2 pinches of iodized salt into the mixing bowl and stir in for 20 sec./speed 3.

Bake batter

Pour the batter into the prepared mold and smooth it out. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes. This happens outside of the Thermomix.

Cut brownie

Cut the brownie lengthwise into 3 strips on the baking sheet and then cut these into triangles. This happens outside of the Thermomix.

Beat egg white until stiff

Put egg white and 1 pinch of iodized salt into the mixing bowl and beat with the butterfly for 3 min./speed 3.5 until stiff.

Let powdered sugar trickle in

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/Speed 3

Let 150 g of powdered sugar trickle in portion by portion through the lid opening and stir in for 1 min./speed 3 until a creamy icing is formed.

Stir in food coloring

Thermomix® Setting

Add green food coloring and stir in for 10 sec./speed 3.

Decorate brownie trees

Fill the icing into a piping bag with a hole nozzle or a freezer bag with a cut-off corner and pipe onto the brownie trees. Decorate with colorful candy canes (or straws). This happens outside of the Thermomix.
