Description

This baked chicken recipe is a family favorite! I've been making it for years, and it's always a hit. The chicken breasts are seasoned and browned, then baked in a flavorful tomato sauce and topped with a generous layer of cheese. It's a simple yet satisfying dish that's perfect for a weeknight dinner. The combination of the savory chicken, tangy tomato sauce, and melted cheese is simply irresistible. Feel free to add a pinch of chili flakes for an extra kick! It's also great with a side of rice or a simple salad.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 4 piece skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 16 ounce tomato sauce
  • 1 ounce package taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup shredded cotija cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Preparation (7 steps)

Preheat Oven

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a glass baking dish with vegetable cooking spray.

Season Chicken

Season the 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves with salt and pepper to taste.

Brown Chicken

Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat; brown chicken on both sides. Place chicken in prepared baking dish.

Prepare Sauce

Thermomix® Setting

Add 1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce and 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning to the mixing bowl. Mix 10 Sec./Stufe 3.

Pour Sauce over Chicken

Pour the tomato sauce and taco seasoning mixture over the chicken breasts in the baking dish.

Sprinkle Cheese

Sprinkle ½ cup shredded cotija cheese and ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese evenly over top of the chicken breasts.

Bake Chicken

Bake in preheated oven until chicken has fully cooked and cheese has browned, 20 to 30 minutes.
