Description

This Bauernbrot (Farmer's Bread) recipe is easy to prepare and tastes homemade. Baked with wheat and spelt flour, it's a hearty bread for breakfast or as a side dish. Preparation takes about 20 minutes, plus 1.5 hours rising time. Ideal for anyone who likes to bake bread and loves the taste of fresh bread.

  • 500 g Water
  • 1 Pck. Dry Yeast
  • 400 g Wheat Flour Type 405
  • 350 g Spelt Flour Type 630
  • 3 TL Salt
  • 1 EL Honey

Prepare the yeast dough

Thermomix® Setting

Add 500 g water, 1 packet of dry yeast, 400 g wheat flour type 405, 350 g spelt flour type 630, 3 tsp salt and 1 tbsp honey to the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min./kneading setting.

Let the dough rise

Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place for 1.5 hours.

Shape and bake the bread

Shape the dough into a loaf and place in an Ofenmeister/loaf pan. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Place the bread in the oven and bake for 60 minutes.
