Description

These stuffed jalapeño bites with tender pigeon breast are a real highlight for any barbecue party! The spiciness of the jalapeños harmonizes wonderfully with the creamy cream cheese and the savory bacon. I especially like to make them in the summer when the grill is already hot anyway. If you like it even spicier, you can of course also use habaneros. The preparation is a bit more complex, but the taste makes up for everything! A hearty snack that is guaranteed to spark conversation.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 4 Stück Pigeons
  • 16 Stück Jalapenos
  • 1 Packung Herb cream cheese
  • 16 Scheibe Bacon
  • 1 Packung Spice mix

Preparation (6 steps)

1

Prepare jalapeños

Halve 16 jalapeños and core them with a spoon or knife. Be careful, the spiciness can stick to your hands! It is best to wear gloves.

2

Prepare pigeon breast

Cut 4 pigeon breasts into bite-sized pieces. Season with a spice mix of your choice. I like to use a mixture with paprika, chili and garlic.

3

Prepare cream cheese

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/keine/Speed 3

Put 1 pack of herb cream cheese into the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 3 to make it a little smoother.

4

Fill jalapeños

Fill the jalapeño halves with the prepared herb cream cheese. Place a piece of seasoned pigeon breast on top and place the second jalapeño half on top.

5

Wrap poppers

Wrap each filled jalapeño with a slice of bacon so that everything stays together well. If necessary, fix with a toothpick.

6

Grill or bake

Place the prepared poppers on the preheated grill (approx. 200°C, indirect heat) and grill for approx. 35 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the pigeon breast is cooked. Alternatively, the poppers can also be baked in a preheated oven at 200°C top/bottom heat.
