Description

This oat flan is a delicious lactose-free alternative to traditional flan. Oat milk gives it a smooth texture and a slightly sweet flavor that perfectly complements the caramel. It is a simple dessert to prepare, ideal for any occasion, from a family meal to a birthday. Cornstarch helps the flan to be more compact, but it is optional. Go ahead and try this recipe and surprise your guests with a different and delicious dessert! It can be prepared in advance and is perfect for lovers of creamy and light desserts.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 5 piece eggs
  • 125 gramos sugar
  • 500 mililitros oat milk
  • 1 bote liquid caramel
  • 1 cucharada postre corn flour (cornstarch)
  • 1 cucharadita vanilla flavoring

Preparation (9 steps)

1

Initial preparation

Preheat the oven to 170°C with heat up and down. In a separate bowl, add the eggs and sugar. Beat well with a whisk until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

2

Incorporation of oat milk

Add the oat milk to the egg and sugar mixture. Mix well with the whisk until all the ingredients are integrated.

3

Flavoring and thickening

Add the vanilla essence and cornstarch (if desired) to the mixture. Beat with the whisk until the cornstarch has completely dissolved and there are no lumps.

4

Straining the mixture

Pass the mixture through a strainer to remove any remaining egg white and ensure a smooth texture in the flan.

5

Preparation of the water bath

Place the flan molds in an oven-safe tray. Add hot water to the tray until it reaches halfway up the molds. Cover the bottom and sides of the molds with liquid caramel.

6

Pouring the mixture into the molds

Carefully pour the flan mixture into the caramelized molds, without reaching the edge.

7

Cooking in a water bath in the oven

Place the tray with the flans in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until they are golden on top and when inserting a toothpick in the center, it comes out clean.

8

Resting in the oven

Turn off the oven and leave the flans inside for 10 minutes before removing them.

9

Cooling and refrigeration

Remove the tray from the oven and let the flans cool at room temperature. Then, put them in the refrigerator to finish cooling completely before serving.
