Description

These cabbage rolls with vegetable filling are a hearty and vegetarian main course, ideal for autumn/fall. The filling of carrots, lentils, and tomato paste is prepared in the Thermomix® and wrapped in blanched white cabbage leaves. The rolls are then baked in the oven. The recipe is for 4 servings and takes about 75 minutes.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 1 Stück White cabbage (approx. 20 leaves)
  • 3 Stück Carrots
  • 1 gr. Onion
  • 3 EL Tomato paste
  • 200 ml Vegetable sugo/Tomato sauce
  • 50 g Cooked lentils
  • Soy sauce
  • 1 EL Tahini
  • Spices and herbs
  • 2 EL Olive oil

Preparation (8 steps)

Preparing the cabbage leaves

Remove and discard the outer leaves from the white cabbage head. Detach 20 leaves from the head and blanch in boiling salted water. Then drain.

Chop onions and carrots

Thermomix® Setting

Place 1 gram of onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Scrape down with the spatula.

Chop carrots

Place the WunderSlicer V2 on the mixing bowl lid and select the coarse disc. Place 3 carrots in the mixing bowl and chop with the WunderSlicer V2. Remove the chopped ingredients and set aside.

Sauté onions and carrots

Add 2 tbsp olive oil to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare the vegetable filling

Add the chopped carrots, 50g cooked lentils, and 3 tbsp tomato paste to the onions in the mixing bowl and sauté briefly. Add 200 ml vegetable sugo/tomato sauce, some soy sauce, some tahini (approx. 1 tbsp), and spices of your choice.

Simmer the vegetable filling

Simmer the vegetable filling for 10 min./100°C/speed 1 until the liquid has been absorbed reasonably.

Fill and roll the cabbage rolls

Fill the blanched white cabbage leaves (always place 2 overlapping each other) with the vegetable filling, roll up tightly, and close with skewers or toothpicks if necessary.

Bake cabbage rolls

Place the cabbage rolls with the "seam" facing down in a baking dish and cover with some tomato sauce or tomato paste mixed with water. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees top/bottom heat for 10-15 minutes.
