Description

This chicken with turmeric and dried grapes is a tasty and fragrant dish, perfect for a comforting meal. I love preparing this recipe, because it is simple and quick to make with the Thermomix®. Turmeric brings a beautiful golden color and a slightly peppery flavor, while dried grapes add a sweet and soft touch. It is an ideal dish for autumn or winter evenings, served with basmati rice or semolina. Feel free to add other vegetables such as carrots or zucchini for an even more complete dish. A real delight!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 2 piece chicken breasts
  • 1 c. à s. olive oil
  • 0.5 jus lemon
  • 12.5 cl vegetable stock cube
  • 1 c. à c. turmeric
  • 0.5 piece onion
  • 4 c. à s. dried grapes
  • 1 tbsp Salt or fine salt
  • 1 tbsp Pepper

Preparation (6 steps)

Preparation of the broth and soaking of the grapes

Prepare the broth with 12.5 cl of water and half a vegetable stock cube. Add the 4 tbsp of dried grapes and let soak. Set aside.

Chop the onion

Thermomix® Setting

Cut the half onion in two and put it in the Thermomix bowl. Chop for 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Sauté the onion

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 1 tbsp of olive oil to the bowl and sauté the onion for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Cooking the chicken

Cut the 2 chicken breasts into pieces. Heat a pan with a little oil and brown the chicken pieces. Set aside.

Adding spices and broth

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Add the browned chicken to the Thermomix bowl. Add 1 tsp of turmeric, salt and pepper. Mix 10 Sek./Linkslauf Stufe 2.

Simmer the chicken

Thermomix® Setting
60 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Pour the vegetable stock cube with the dried grapes and the ½ lemon juice into the bowl. Simmer covered for 60 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.
