Description

This hearty lentil and bean chili from the Thermomix® is a protein-rich and vegan main course, ideal for quick, uncomplicated cooking. Red lentils, kidney beans, bell peppers, onions, and tomato paste create a satisfying one-pot dish. Preparation takes about 50 minutes, with an active working time of about 20 minutes. The recipe yields 6 servings and is gluten- and lactose-free. Perfect as a family meal or for the next party.

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 1 Stück Onion
  • 2 Stück Bell peppers yellow and red
  • 1 EL Olive oil
  • 2 EL Tomato paste
  • 500 ml Vegetable broth
  • 100 g Red lentils dried
  • 500 g Kidney beans drained weight
  • 285 g Corn drained weight
  • 800 g Chopped tomatoes canned
  • nach Geschmack Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper
  • 2 TL Sweet paprika powder
  • 0.5 TL Cumin

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare onion and bell peppers

Peel and quarter 1 onion. Wash, core, and roughly dice 2 bell peppers (yellow and red). Place the prepared onion pieces in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./Stufe 5. If necessary, push down with the spatula.

Sauté onion and bell peppers

Add 1 tbsp olive oil to the chopped onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1. If necessary, push down with the spatula.

Roast tomato paste and lentils

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 2 tbsp tomato paste and 100 g red lentils (dried) to the onions and bell peppers in the mixing bowl and stir in for 2 Min./120°C/Stufe 1. If necessary, push down with the spatula.

Add liquid and remaining ingredients

Add 500 ml vegetable broth, 1 can kidney beans (drained weight 500 g), 1 can corn (drained weight 285 g) and 800 g chopped tomatoes (canned) to the mixing bowl.

Simmer chili

20 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Close the mixing bowl lid and simmer the Chili sin Carne for 20 Min./100°C/Stufe 1. If necessary, push down with the spatula.

Season and serve

5 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

After cooking, season with salt, pepper, 2 tsp sweet paprika powder and 1/2 tsp cumin. If necessary, simmer for another 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1. Then serve.
