Description

These cinnamony dominoes from the Thermomix® are a festive finger food dessert with honey, sugar, butter and gingerbread spice. The preparation of the confectionery takes a total of 180 minutes, the active working time is about 90 minutes. The recipe yields approximately 40 servings. Ideal for Christmas time and for baking with the family.

Ingredients (18 ingredients)

  • 250 g Honey
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 75 g Butter
  • 1 TL Gingerbread spice
  • 0.5 TL Cinnamon
  • 0.5 TL Cloves, ground
  • 1 TL Baking soda
  • 2 EL Water
  • 500 g Flour (Type 550)
  • 200 g Apricot jam
  • 2 EL Rum
  • 200 g Marzipan raw material
  • 50 g Icing sugar
  • 1 TL Rose water
  • 150 g Red currant jelly
  • 1 EL Rum
  • 200 g Dark chocolate
  • 20 g Coconut fat

Preparation (12 steps)

Prepare honey cake dough

Thermomix® Setting

Put honey, sugar, butter and spices into the mixing bowl and heat for 5 min./50°C/speed 2.

Complete honey cake dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Mix baking soda and water and add to the mixing bowl together with the flour. Process into a smooth dough for 2 min./kneading stage.

Roll out and bake dough

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of approx. 1 cm and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C top/bottom heat for approx. 15 minutes. Then let it cool down.

Prepare fruit filling

Put apricot jam and rum into the mixing bowl and heat for 3 min./50°C/speed 2.

Spread fruit filling

Spread the jam on the cooled honey cake base and let it set.

Prepare marzipan

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Put marzipan raw material, icing sugar and rose water into the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./speed 4.

Roll out and place marzipan

Roll out the marzipan between two cling films and place on the jam. Press down lightly.

Prepare jelly

Put red currant jelly and rum into the mixing bowl and heat for 3 min./50°C/speed 2.

Spread jelly

Spread the jelly on the marzipan and let it set.

Cut dominoes

Cut the cake into approx. 3 x 3 cm cubes.

Prepare chocolate glaze

Put dark chocolate and coconut fat into the mixing bowl and melt for 4 min./50°C/speed 2.

Glaze dominoes

Dip the dominoes in the chocolate and let them set on a cake rack.
