Description

This plum compote is a poem! I make it every year during plum season and it tastes simply wonderful. The combination of sweet plums, spicy cinnamon and a hint of lemon is unbeatable. It is super easy to prepare in the Thermomix® and goes perfectly with Kaiserschmarren, semolina batter cake or simply pure as a dessert. It can be enjoyed warm or cold, according to taste. And the best part: it can be wonderfully preserved in jars and thus lasts throughout the winter!

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Plums
  • 180 g Sugar
  • 150 ml Water
  • 1 piece Lemon(s), juice of
  • 1 Stange(n) Cinnamon stick
  • 5 piece Clove(s)

Preparation (4 steps)

Prepare ingredients

Add 150 ml water, 180 g sugar and the juice of a lemon to the mixing bowl. Add half a cinnamon stick and 5 cloves (preferably in a tea egg).

Boil

Thermomix® Setting
10 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Boil the ingredients in the mixing bowl for 10 min./100°C/speed 1.

Add plums and simmer

Thermomix® Setting
20 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add 1 kg of halved and pitted plums to the mixing bowl and simmer for another 20 min./100°C/reverse rotation speed 1 until the plums have slightly disintegrated. Use the spatula to move the mixture if necessary.

Remove spices

After cooking, remove the cinnamon stick and cloves (or the tea egg) from the mixing bowl.
