Description

This pickled chicken is a traditional Argentine recipe that reminds me of my grandmother. She always prepared large quantities to have preserves ready for any occasion. The meat is tender and juicy, with a delicious sweet and sour flavor thanks to the vinegar and spices. It is perfect to enjoy cold, accompanied by a salad or as a filling for sandwiches. Furthermore, it is an excellent way to use leftover chicken and have a meal ready at any time. Go ahead and try it, you'll love it!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 2 piece chicken (thigh and/or breast)
  • 2 piece onions
  • 1 piece carrot
  • 1 container oil
  • 1 container white vinegar
  • 3 hojas bay leaf
  • 2 dientes garlic
  • 10 piezas black peppercorns
  • 1 cucharadita fine salt
  • 1 pinch oregano
  • 1 piece bell pepper

Preparation (6 steps)

Preparation of the ingredients

Peel and quarter the onions. Peel and slice the carrot. Cut the bell pepper into large pieces. Peel the garlic cloves.

Crush the vegetables

Introduce the onions, carrot, bell pepper and garlic cloves into the Thermomix bowl. Crush for 5 Sec./Level 5.

Sauté the vegetables

Thermomix® Setting

Add the glass of oil to the Thermomix bowl. Program 8 Min./120°C/Level 1.

Add the rest of the ingredients

Incorporate the glass of white vinegar, the bay leaves, the black peppercorns, the teaspoon of fine salt and the pinch of oregano into the Thermomix bowl. Place the chicken in the Varoma container.

Place the Varoma on the Thermomix and program 20 Min./Varoma/Level 1.

Pack and sterilize

Place the chicken and sauce in sterilized glass jars. Close the jars tightly. Place the jars in a pot with water halfway. Turn on the heat and let the water boil for 20 minutes. Remove the jars, dry them and store them in a dark and moisture-free place.
