Description

With the Thermomix®, these creative hedgehog cookies are made in no time at all. The main ingredients are margarine, sugar, egg, flour and chocolate chips. The preparation time is 57 minutes and yields about 20 servings. Ideal as a Christmas finger food, dessert or for baking with the family in the winter. This simple cookie recipe is perfect for festive occasions.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 150 g Margarine in a tub (at room temperature)
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Stück Egg (size L)
  • 300 g Flour
  • 1 Prise Iodized salt
  • 1 TL Gingerbread spice (slightly heaped)
  • 1 Packung Chocolate chips
  • 1 Packung Chocolate sprinkles
  • 1 Packung Chocolate glaze
  • Baking paper

Preparation (10 steps)

Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection: 160 °C). Line a baking sheet with baking paper. This step is done without the Thermomix.

Mix margarine, sugar and vanilla sugar

Place 150 g of room temperature margarine, 125 g of sugar and 1 packet of vanilla sugar in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec/speed 4.

Add egg and mix

Add 1 egg (size L) and mix for 10 sec/speed 4.

Mix and add flour, salt and spice

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Add 300 g flour, 1 pinch of iodized salt and, if desired, 1 tsp gingerbread spice (slightly heaped) to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec/speed 4. Scrape down the sides with the spatula and mix for another 10 sec/speed 4.

Knead dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and briefly knead into a ball with floured hands. This step is done without the Thermomix.

Roll out and cut out dough

Roll out the dough in portions on a floured work surface to a thickness of 4-5 mm, making sure that the rolling pin is also always lightly floured. Cut out circles with a glass or cutter (Ø approx. 7-9 cm). This step is done without the Thermomix.

Shape and top hedgehogs

Shape the cut-out dough circles into a point with your fingers towards the hedgehog's snout. Use the same glass or cutter to press the head into a semicircle as a marking. Place three chocolate drops as eyes and snout and press down lightly. This step is done without the Thermomix.

Bake cookies

Bake the hedgehog cookies on baking sheets lined with baking paper in the preheated oven for approx. 12 minutes until they are very lightly browned. Remove from the baking sheet with the baking paper and let cool on a wire rack. This step is done without the Thermomix.

Prepare chocolate glaze

Prepare the chocolate glaze according to the package instructions. This step is done without the Thermomix.

Glaze and decorate cookies

Coat or dip the hedgehog bodies in the chocolate glaze. Sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles while the glaze is still liquid and let it harden. This step is done without the Thermomix.
