Description

This creamy rice with milk is a comforting dessert, perfect for autumn evenings. I often prepare it for Sunday brunch or as a sweet treat after a festive meal. The combination of smooth rice with milk and caramelised plums is simply divine! The plums, slightly tart, bring a fruity touch that perfectly balances the sweetness of the rice. It's a simple dessert to make, but it always impresses my guests. Feel free to use other seasonal fruits like apples or pears to vary the pleasures. A real delight!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 1 l Whole milk
  • 130 g Round rice
  • 100 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 6 piece Plums
  • Butter
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation of the rice with milk

Pour 1 litre of whole milk into the Thermomix bowl. Add 130 g of round rice, 100 g of powdered sugar and 1 sachet of vanilla sugar.

Cooking the rice with milk

Cook the rice with milk for 30 min/90°C/Stufe 2. Stir gently with the spatula from time to time to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the bowl.

Cooling the rice with milk

Remove the rice with milk from the Thermomix and pour it into a salad bowl. Let cool to room temperature.

Preparation of plums

Clean, dab, cut in half and remove the pits from 6 plums.

Caramelisation of plums

Melt a large knob of butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the plums and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Caramelise for 3-4 min, stirring constantly.

Cooling of the plums

Remove the caramelised plums from the heat and let cool slightly.

Plating

Serve the rice with milk in bowls or ramekins. Place two half caramelised plums on each rice with milk. Decorate with vanilla pods (optional).
