Description

I love discovering new snack alternatives, and these crispy chickpeas are simply ingenious! With oriental spices, cinnamon and chili they get a wonderful seasoning. The preparation is super easy and quick, perfect for a cozy evening or as a party snack. The chickpeas become nice and crispy in the air fryer and are a great alternative to chips. If you like, you can sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. An absolute must for anyone who likes it spicy and crispy!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 425 ml Chickpeas (can)
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Ras el-Hanout (oriental spice mixture)
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Sea salt
  • 3 tbsp Sesame

Preparation (5 steps)

Prepare and season chickpeas

Place the chickpeas in a sieve, drain and rinse thoroughly. Then pat dry carefully with kitchen paper. Put the drained chickpeas in a bowl. Add 3 tbsp olive oil, 1-2 tbsp Ras el-Hanout, 1 tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp chili powder and 1 tsp sea salt and mix everything well so that the chickpeas are evenly covered with the spices.

Distribute chickpeas in the mixing bowl

Put the spiced chickpeas in the mixing bowl and spread evenly.

Roast chickpeas

15 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Roast the chickpeas in the mixing bowl for 15 min./120°C/speed 1 without the measuring cup. Use the spatula to move the chickpeas in between so that they are roasted evenly.

Add sesame seeds and continue roasting

2 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 3 tbsp sesame seeds to the chickpeas in the mixing bowl and roast for another 2 min./120°C/speed 1 without the measuring cup. Again, use the spatula to mix the chickpeas and sesame seeds well.

Let chickpeas cool down

Remove the roasted chickpeas from the mixing bowl and let them cool on a baking sheet lined with baking paper or in a bowl. Serve warm or store in an airtight container.
