Description

This bell pepper dip is a delicious and versatile dip that is ideal as an appetizer or finger food. It is quick and easy to prepare and can be refined with chili or other spices as desired. The dip is vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free and therefore suitable for many diets. Perfect for parties or as a snack in between.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 2 Stück red pointed bell pepper
  • 1.5 EL Olive oil
  • 1 Stück Onion chopped
  • 2 Stück Garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 Stück red pointed bell pepper diced
  • 1.5 EL Tomato paste
  • 1 TL Sweet paprika powder
  • 0.25 TL Smoked paprika powder
  • 1 kl. Chili pepper or chili powder (to taste)
  • 1 EL Lemon juice
  • 0.25 TL Salt
  • 0.25 TL Pepper

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting

Peel 1 onion and halve it. Peel 2 cloves of garlic. Place the onion halves in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Add the garlic and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Use the spatula to scrape everything down from the edge.

Sauté onion and garlic

Add 1.5 tbsp olive oil to the onions and garlic in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare and add bell pepper

Core 2 red pointed bell peppers and cut into coarse pieces. Slice 1-2 red pointed bell peppers with the Wundermix WunderSlicer V2. Place the WunderSlicer V2 on the mixing bowl lid and select the desired slice (fine/coarse). Set aside the bell pepper slices. Place the coarse bell pepper pieces in the mixing bowl.

Sauté the bell pepper

Add the bell pepper pieces to the mixing bowl and sauté for 5 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add tomato paste and spices

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/212°F/Speed 1 212°F

Add 1.5 tbsp tomato paste, 1 tsp sweet paprika powder, a little smoked paprika powder and 1 small chili pepper (or some chili powder to taste) to the mixing bowl and stir for 1 min./100°C/speed 1.

Purée the dip

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 8-10

Add 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste to the mixing bowl and purée for 30 sec./speed 8-10. Hold the lid firmly in place.

Season and serve

Taste the bell pepper dip again briefly and season with salt, pepper or chili powder if necessary. Garnish with the bell pepper slices from the Wundermix WunderSlicer V2 and serve.
