Description

This Asian-inspired Chinese cabbage salad is a real hit! The crunchy Chinese cabbage and fresh spring onions harmonize perfectly with the sweet and sour dressing. The highlight is the crispy sesame-almond-crunch, which gives the salad a great texture. The instant noodles make the salad filling and give it a special touch. Ideal for parties, as a side dish for grilling or simply as a light meal in between. The preparation is super easy and quick, so you have a delicious salad on the table in no time. An absolute must for all salad lovers!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 1 piece Chinese cabbage, small
  • 1 bunch Spring onion(s)
  • 100 g Almonds, roughly chopped
  • 3 tbsp Sesame
  • 130 g Mie noodles, Chinese (instant noodles!)
  • 4 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Vinegar, 5% acidity
  • 0.5 cup Olive oil

Preparation (4 steps)

Prepare Chinese cabbage and spring onions

Cut Chinese cabbage into strips and place in a large bowl. Cut spring onions into rings and add to the bowl as well. Crumble the instant noodles into small pieces and set aside.

Roast almonds and sesame

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Put almonds and sesame into the mixing bowl and roast for 3 min./120°C/speed 1 without a measuring cup. Then transfer the roasted almonds and sesame together with the crumbled noodles into a bowl.

Prepare dressing

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Put soy sauce, sugar and vinegar into the mixing bowl and cook for 5 min./100°C/speed 2. Then transfer the dressing to a bowl and let it cool down.

Refine dressing and mix salad

After cooling, add the olive oil to the dressing and mix well. Just before serving, pour the dressing over the Chinese cabbage and spring onions and mix everything well. Sprinkle the sesame-almond-noodle mix over it and serve immediately.
