Description

Delicious Berliners baked in the oven instead of fried.

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 75 g Sugar
  • 1 Beutel Dry yeast
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 75 g Butter
  • 125 g Fruit spread
  • 150 g Powdered sugar
  • 3 TL Lemon juice

Preparation (9 steps)

Mix dry ingredients

Put 75 g sugar and 1 sachet of dry yeast into the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 3.

Prepare dough

Put 250 ml milk and 75 g butter into the mixing bowl. Knead to a homogeneous dough with the Meistermix Patix dough knife for 6 min./kneading stage.

Let the dough rise

Put the dough in a covered bowl and let it rise in a warm place for one hour.

Shape Berliners

On a floured work surface, form the dough into 10 to 12 even balls with floured hands and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Let the dough pieces rise again

Cover the dough balls and let them rise again in a warm place for 20 minutes.

Bake Berliners

Bake the baking sheet in the preheated oven at 160 degrees top/bottom heat or 180 degrees convection for 25 minutes.

Cool and fill Berliners

Let the Berliners cool on a wire rack. In the meantime, fill 125 g fruit spread into a piping bag and inject it into the edge of the Berliners.

Prepare powdered sugar glaze

Put 150 g powdered sugar and 3 tsp lemon juice into the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./speed 3.

Glaze Berliners

Glaze the cooled Berliners with the powdered sugar glaze.
