Description

This appetizer of figs with blue cheese, walnuts and honey is an explosion of flavors that always triumphs. The combination of the sweetness of the ripe fig with the salty and creamy touch of blue cheese is simply irresistible. The walnuts provide a delicious crunch and the honey an extra sweetness that enhances all the flavors. It is perfect for an informal meal with friends or as a starter for a special dinner. In addition, it is prepared in the blink of an eye! If you want to give it an extra touch, you can add a few drops of extra virgin olive oil and freshly ground black pepper. A Mediterranean delight that you cannot miss!

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 6 piece Figs
  • 40 g Goat blue cheese
  • 2 piece Walnuts
  • Honey
  • Fresh or dried thyme

Preparation (4 steps)

1

Preparation of the figs

Gently wash the figs and dry them carefully. They should be ripe and juicy, but slightly firm. Cut the stem from each fig and then cut them in half lengthwise. To make it easier for them to stay face up, make a slight cut at the base of each half, creating a flatter surface. Set aside.

2

Chop the walnuts

Thermomix® Setting

Place the 2 walnuts in the Thermomix bowl. Chop for 3 seconds at speed 5. Remove and set aside.

Assembly of the figs

Place the fig halves on a platter. Spread generous portions of 40g blue cheese over each half. Drizzle with honey to taste, but not excessively. Sprinkle the coarsely chopped walnuts over the cheese and top with fresh or dried thyme. Optionally, add a little freshly ground black pepper.

4

Cool and serve

Keep in the refrigerator if not eaten immediately, but let it temper a little before serving so that neither the figs nor the cheese are too cold and lose flavor.
