Description

Heavenly slices are a delicious cake, which are ideal for festive occasions or simply for coffee. The recipe consists of a loose dough, a creamy filling and a crispy meringue topping. The preparation takes about 75 minutes and is moderately difficult. Perfect as a dessert or sweet surprise for family and friends.

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 300 dag Butter
  • 250 dag Icing sugar
  • 6 piece Egg yolks
  • 300 dag Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.25 Liter Milk
  • 6 piece Egg whites
  • 350 dag Icing sugar
  • 2 piece Cream
  • 1 piece Sour cream
  • Lemon juice
  • 100 dag Sugar
  • 1 piece Vanilla

Preparation (11 steps)

Mix butter, icing sugar and egg yolks until fluffy

Add 300g butter, 250g icing sugar and 6 egg yolks to the mixing bowl and mix for 3 min./speed 4 until fluffy.

Add flour and baking powder

Add 300g flour and 1 tsp baking powder and stir in for 20 sec./speed 3.

Add milk

Add some milk (approx. 1/8 to 1/4 liter) and stir in for 10 sec./speed 3.

Spread dough on baking trays

Spread the mixture on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper.

Prepare meringue

Put 6 egg whites into the mixing bowl and whisk with the butterfly for 3 min./speed 3.5 until stiff.

Add icing sugar

Add 350g icing sugar and stir in for 1 min./speed 3.

Spread meringue on dough

Spread the meringue on the two dough mixtures. Sprinkle one tray with almond slivers.

Bake

Bake at approx. 160-170°C and let cool.

Prepare filling

Put 2 cups of cream into the mixing bowl and whisk with the butterfly for 2 min./speed 3.5 until stiff.

Add sour cream, lemon juice, sugar and vanilla

Add 1 cup sour cream, some lemon juice, 100g sugar and 1 packet of vanilla sugar and stir in for 20 sec./speed 3.

Spread filling

Spread the filling on one tray (without almond slivers), cover with the second tray (cut into strips if necessary).
