Description

These almond diamonds are a delicious pastry, especially popular during the Christmas season. The shortcrust pastry is refined with almonds, cinnamon and lemon sugar, and after baking, it is filled with nougat and covered with chocolate icing. Preparation takes about 105 minutes and results in a festive dessert.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 200 g Flour
  • 200 g Almonds (ground)
  • 200 g Margarine
  • 1 Prise Cinnamon
  • 150 g Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Ei Egg
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 1 Pkg. Vanilla Sugar
  • Lemon Sugar
  • Nougat
  • Chocolate Glaze

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare the shortcrust pastry

Put 200 g flour, 200 g ground almonds, 200 g margarine, 1 pinch of cinnamon, 150 g powdered sugar, 1 egg, 1 pinch of salt, 1 packet of vanilla sugar and some lemon sugar into the mixing bowl and process into a shortcrust pastry for 2 min./speed 4.

Chill the dough

Wrap the shortcrust pastry in cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for 1 hour.

Roll out and cut out dough

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface and cut out diamond shapes.

Baking

Place the cut-out diamonds on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for approx. 15 minutes.

Filling

After cooling, fill the diamonds with warmed nougat and leave to dry in a cool room for approx. 1 hour.

Decorating

Then dip the filled diamonds in whole milk glaze and decorate with chocolate decor. Let the glaze set.
