Description

Decorated shortcrust pastry cookies are a festive finger food that is easy to prepare with the Thermomix®. The main ingredients are flour, powdered sugar, margarine, egg and baking cocoa. The preparation time is 55 minutes, of which 40 minutes is working time, and yields about 20 cookies. Ideal for the Christmas coffee table or as a sweet treat in winter.

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 300 g Flour
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 100 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 Egg (size M)
  • 200 g Margarine
  • 2 EL Baking cocoa (low-fat cocoa powder)
  • 1 TL Milk

Preparation (8 steps)

Mix dry ingredients

Put 300 g flour, 1 packet vanilla sugar and 100 g powdered sugar into the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec/speed 4. If necessary, sieve the powdered sugar beforehand if it is lumpy.

Prepare dough

Separate 1 egg, the egg white is not needed. Add the egg yolk, the flour mixture and 200 g margarine in small flakes to the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min/knead setting to form a smooth dough.

Divide dough and add cocoa

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and divide into 3 portions. Put one portion back into the mixing bowl, add 2 tbsp baking cocoa and 1 tsp milk and mix for 20 sec/speed 3 until a smooth, dark dough is formed.

Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan oven: 160 °C). Line a baking sheet with baking paper.

Roll out dough and cut out shapes

Roll out the light dough on a floured work surface to approx. 3-4 mm thick and cut out circles with a glass or cookie cutter (small faces Ø approx. 5 cm, large faces approx. 7 cm). Place the dough circles on the baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Shape faces

Use a straw to cut out the eyes in the middle and use the tip of a teaspoon to "punch" the laughing mouth into the dough, possibly turning the spoon slightly up towards the corners of the mouth. Press nostrils into the dough with the tip of a wooden skewer. Don't be afraid to overdo it with everything, the dough will shrink a little when baking.

Attach hair and decorations

Use the brown dough to make the hair, hats or glasses. Place on the dough faces and press down lightly. For curls, simply roll the brown dough into small balls. Strands of hair are made from small sausages, it is best to moisten your fingertips with a little water, then the sausages can also be rolled up into curls. For bangs, the brown dough is rolled out thinly and shaped into semicircles or quarter circles with the glass or cutter. The little girl's hair is a brown circle that is cut off at the bottom; the hair itself is then cut or notched with a knife. A semicircle is also the bobble hat and the peaked cap, press the bobble or the peak firmly. We make the notches on the peaked cap with the spoon, the pattern of the bobble hat and in the beard is created with the wooden skewer.

Bake cookies

Bake the smiling cookies in the preheated oven for approx. 10-15 minutes until very lightly golden brown.
