Description

This recipe for stewed lentils with ham and vegetables is a comforting and nutritious dish, perfect for cold days. The combination of lentils with salty ham and vegetables creates a stew full of flavor and energy. I always use good quality lentils, which do not need pre-soaking, which greatly facilitates preparation. It is an ideal dish to share with family or friends, and can be prepared in advance. A classic that never fails at my house! In addition, it is an excellent source of protein and fiber, ideal for a balanced diet.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 350 gramos Lentils
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 piece Green pepper
  • 1 piece Carrot
  • 1 hoja Bay leaf
  • 1 piece Chorizo
  • 1 trozo Salty ham
  • 1 piece Tomato
  • 1 pinch Cumin (optional)
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 cucharadas soperas Fried tomato
  • 2 dientes Whole garlic

Preparation (6 steps)

Preparation of the lentils

Wash 350 grams of lentils well under the tap until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.

Chopping vegetables

Introduce 1 onion in quarters, 1 green pepper chopped and 1 carrot in slices in the Thermomix glass. Program 3 seconds/speed 5.

Vegetable sauce

Add 2 whole garlic cloves and 1 chopped tomato to the glass. Program 5 minutes/120°C/speed 1.

Incorporation of ingredients

Add 2 tablespoons of fried tomato, 1 bay leaf, 1 pinch of cumin (optional), 1 pinch of salt, 1 chorizo cut into small pieces and 1 piece of salty ham (also in pieces) to the glass.

Cooking the lentils

45 min/212°F/Speed Schaufel/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add the washed lentils to the glass and cover with water until the lentils are submerged. Program 45 minutes/100°C/spoon speed/left turn.

Optional crushing

Optionally, if a creamier texture is desired, remove a part of the cooked vegetables from the glass and crush. Add back to the glass and mix 10 seconds/speed 3.
