Description

I love this simple recipe for fried fish! The beer batter is super crispy and the fish remains nice and juicy. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. Of course, there are french fries and a dash of vinegar, just like in England. The dish is quick to prepare and tastes great to the whole family. If you like, you can add some lemon juice. An absolute must for all fish lovers!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 250 ml Flour
  • 250 ml Beer light or dark
  • 1 piece Egg white
  • 4 piece Fish fillet(s) (e.g. Nile perch)
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Champagne vinegar
  • 4 Port. French fries

Preparation (3 steps)

Prepare batter

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Add flour, beer and salt to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 seconds/speed 4. Beat the egg white until stiff and carefully fold into the batter. Let the batter rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Fry fish

Divide the fish fillets if necessary. Dip the fish fillets in the batter and fry in enough hot oil. The temperature of the oil should be around 170°C. Fry the fish for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

Serve

Drizzle the fried fish with vinegar and serve with french fries.
