Description

This savory potato gratin, prepared in the Thermomix®, is a vegan and gluten-free main course for 6 servings. The main ingredients are potatoes, garlic, soy cooking cream, and almond milk, refined with nutmeg. The preparation time is a total of 100 minutes, of which 30 minutes are active working time. The gratin is ideal for hearty, warm cuisine and is suitable as an inexpensive family meal or for Christmas.

  • 1000 g Potatoes (waxy)
  • 1 Zehe(n) Garlic
  • 50 g Margarine
  • 200 ml Soy Cooking Cream
  • 200 ml Almond Milk
  • Nutmeg
  • Salt
  • White Pepper

Preparation (8 steps)

Chop garlic

Thermomix® Setting

Place 1 clove of garlic in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Melt margarine

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/122°F/Speed 1 50

Add 50 g of margarine to the chopped garlic in the mixing bowl and melt for 3 min./50°C/speed 1.

Mix soy cooking cream and almond milk

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Add 200 ml soy cooking cream and 200 ml almond milk to the mixing bowl. Season with nutmeg, salt and white pepper and mix for 20 sec./speed 3.

Prepare baking dish

Thoroughly rub a large baking dish (approx. 25 x 20 x 5 cm) with the remaining clove of garlic and then grease with 1 tbsp margarine. Preheat oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.

Layer potatoes

Layer 1 kg of peeled and thinly sliced potatoes in the baking dish, season with pepper and salt.

Pour over milk mixture

Pour the milk mixture from the mixing bowl over the potato slices so that the potatoes are in the liquid, but not covered too much.

Distribute margarine

Distribute the remaining 40 g of margarine in small flakes on the gratin.

Bake gratin

Bake the gratin in the preheated oven for 60 - 70 minutes. Cover with baking paper if necessary.
