Description

This hearty savoy cabbage and salmon casserole is a real comfort food for colder days! I especially like to make it in the fall when the savoy cabbage is fresh from the field. The combination of potatoes, tender salmon and the slightly nutty savoy cabbage is simply unbeatable. The creamy sauce, refined with nutmeg, rounds off the whole thing perfectly. The cheese gives the casserole a nice crust. A great dish for the whole family that is also easy to prepare. Simply tastes delicious!

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • 750 g Potatoes
  • 1 piece Savoy cabbage
  • to taste Salt
  • 40 g Butter or margarine
  • 40 g Flour
  • 0.25 l Organic vegetable broth (instant)
  • 0.25 l Milk
  • to taste Pepper
  • to taste Grated nutmeg
  • 600 g Salmon fillet
  • 0.5 piece Lemon
  • 150 g Gouda cheese

Preparation (10 steps)

Prepare potatoes

Thermomix® Setting

Peel 750 g potatoes and place in the steamer basket. Fill 500 ml water into the mixing bowl, insert the steamer basket and steam for 20 min./Varoma/speed 1.

Prepare savoy cabbage

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Clean 1 savoy cabbage, wash and separate 6 outer leaves (use the rest of the savoy cabbage for something else). Place the 6 savoy cabbage leaves in the mixing bowl and cover with water. Blanch for 2 min./100°C/speed 1. Then quench under cold water and cut out the stalk.

Prepare béchamel sauce

Put 40 g butter or margarine in the mixing bowl and melt for 3 min./100°C/speed 1.

Make a roux

Add 40 g flour and sauté for 2 min./100°C/speed 2.

Finish sauce

Add 1/4 l organic vegetable broth (instant) and 1/4 l milk and bring to the boil for 5 min./90°C/speed 3. Season generously with salt, pepper and grated nutmeg.

Cut potatoes

Drain the cooked potatoes, quench and peel off the skin. Then cut into slices.

Prepare salmon

Wash 600 g salmon fillet, pat dry, drizzle with juice of 1/2 lemon and season with salt and pepper.

Grate cheese

Put 150 g Gouda cheese in pieces in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./speed 5. Transfer.

Layer casserole

Spread half of the potato slices in a greased casserole dish (1.3 liter capacity). Cover with three savoy cabbage leaves. Spread half of the sauce on top. Place the seasoned salmon on the savoy cabbage leaves. Cover with remaining savoy cabbage and spread the remaining potatoes on top. Pour the remaining sauce over it.

Bake casserole

Sprinkle the grated cheese over the lasagna and bake in a preheated oven (electric oven: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for 40-45 minutes.
