Description

This hearty beef and bean chili is a family favorite, especially during the colder months. I've been making this recipe for years, and it's always a hit! The combination of ground beef, chili powder, cumin, and beans creates a rich and flavorful dish that's perfect for a cozy night in. It's also great for meal prepping since it tastes even better the next day. Feel free to adjust the amount of chili powder to your liking for a spicier kick. This chili is perfect for a casual dinner party or a potluck with friends.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.5 piece large onion, coarsely chopped
  • 2 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 can black beans, rinsed and drained (15 ounce)
  • 2 can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained (15 ounce)
  • 2 can diced tomatoes with green chiles, undrained (14.5 ounce)

Chop the onion

Place ½ large onion, coarsely chopped, into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec/speed 5.

Sauté onion and garlic

Add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh garlic to the mixing bowl. Sauté for 3 min/120°C/speed 1.

Brown the ground beef

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 ½ pounds ground beef, 2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon ground cumin, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, and ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper; cook, stirring occasionally, until beef is lightly browned and crumbly, 5 to 8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Combine ingredients in Thermomix

Transfer the browned beef mixture to the Thermomix mixing bowl. Add 2 (15 ounce) cans black beans, rinsed and drained, 2 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans, rinsed and drained, and 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green chiles, undrained.

Cook the chili
