Description

This hearty beef goulash is inspired by Portuguese cuisine and is a real comfort food. The beef is braised wonderfully tender and perfectly absorbs the flavors of onions, garlic, carrots, tomato paste and white wine. The bay leaves give the goulash a special touch. I especially like to cook it in autumn and winter when it's cold outside. It is a great dish for a cozy dinner with friends or family. It goes well with boiled potatoes or rice. If you like, you can also sprinkle some chopped parsley over it.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 1 kg Beef Goulash Meat
  • 2 piece Onion(s)
  • 1 clove Clove(s) of Garlic
  • 50 ml Olive oil
  • 2 piece Carrot(s)
  • 100 ml White wine
  • 1 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2 piece Bay leaves
  • 0.5 bunch Salt and Pepper

Prepare meat

Season the meat with salt and pepper and set aside.

Chop Onions, Garlic and Carrots

Peel and quarter the onions and place in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Add garlic clove and chop for another 3 sec./speed 7. Peel, chop carrots into pieces and add. Chop for 5 sec./speed 5.

Sauté vegetables

Add olive oil and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Sear the meat

Sear the meat in a separate pan with some olive oil and then add to the vegetables in the mixing bowl.

Simmer Goulash

Thermomix® Setting
120 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add tomato paste, white wine and bay leaves. Simmer for 120 min./100°C/speed 1/reverse rotation. Add some water if necessary.

Refine and serve goulash

Stir in chopped parsley and serve the goulash.
