Description

These savoury pinwheels with ham and cheese are a delicious snack that is very easy to prepare with the Thermomix®. Perfect for an impromptu aperitif or a Sunday brunch, these pinwheels are always a success! The puff pastry, filled with cooked ham and grated cheese, creates an irresistible combination of flavours. The preparation is really quick, ideal when you have little time but don't want to give up something tasty. They can also be prepared in advance and frozen, ready to be baked when needed. A delicious idea for any occasion!

Ingredients (3 ingredients)

  • 1 rotolo Puff pastry
  • 150 g Grated cheese
  • 150 g Cooked ham, sliced

Preparation (8 steps)

Preparation of the puff pastry

Roll out the rectangular puff pastry roll on a work surface.

Distribution of the cheese

Spread the grated cheese evenly over the puff pastry, trying to make it stick as much as possible. Use a spatula to facilitate distribution.

Addition of the ham

Spread the slices of cooked ham over the layer of grated cheese.

Roll up the puff pastry

Start rolling up the puff pastry starting from the longest side, forming a compact roll.

Cooling of the roll

Close the roll in baking paper and transfer everything to the freezer for about 15 minutes. This step will facilitate the cutting of the pinwheels.

Cutting of the pinwheels

After the indicated time, take the filled puff pastry roll and cut it into 3-4 cm slices, in order to form the pinwheels.

Baking in the oven

Line a baking sheet with baking paper and align the freshly prepared pinwheels inside it. Transfer and bake in a preheated static oven at 200°C for about 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

Cooling and serving

After the cooking time, take the pinwheels with cooked ham and cheese out of the oven, let them cool slightly and serve.
