Description

This delicious Savoury Tart of Cherry Tomatoes is a real eye-catcher and tastes simply fantastic! I especially like to make it in summer when the tomatoes develop their full flavor. The combination of the crispy puff pastry, the spicy mustard layer, and the sweet, aromatic tomatoes is simply unbeatable. A little fresh basil and oregano round off the whole thing perfectly. Ideal as an appetizer, for a picnic or simply to enjoy. And best of all: it's super easy to prepare!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 1 rotolo round puff pastry
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 400 g cherry tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp cane sugar
  • garlic powder
  • basil
  • oregano
  • olive oil
  • fine salt

Preparation (7 steps)

Mustard on the puff pastry

Roll out 1 roll of round puff pastry on a flat surface. Spread 1 tablespoon of mustard evenly over the entire surface of the puff pastry. Set aside.

Preparation of cherry tomatoes

Cut 400 g of cherry tomatoes in half and put them in a bowl. Add basil to taste, oregano to taste, fine salt to taste, garlic powder to taste, 1 tablespoon of cane sugar and olive oil to taste. Mix well to flavor the cherry tomatoes.

Arrangement of cherry tomatoes in the pan

Take a baking tray (about 26 cm in diameter) and line the bottom with baking paper. Arrange the cherry tomatoes in the pan with the cut side facing up, creating an even layer without overlapping them.

Covering with puff pastry

Place the puff pastry over the cherry tomatoes, with the mustard-spread side in contact with the cherry tomatoes. Pinch the puff pastry that overflows at the sides to create a border.

Piercing the surface

Prick the surface of the puff pastry with the tines of a fork.

Baking in the oven

Bake in a preheated static oven at 180°C for 30 minutes, or in a fan oven at 170°C for the same time.

Turning and decoration

Once cooked, turn the savoury tart onto a serving dish and gently remove the baking paper. If necessary, reposition the cherry tomatoes. Decorate with a few basil leaves and a little oregano.
