Description

This gnocchi casserole is a real comfort food! The combination of tender gnocchi, creamy spinach and juicy chicken is simply unbeatable. A touch of curry provides an interesting flavor. I like to make this casserole when I need something quick, but still want something hearty on the table. It is perfect for a cozy evening and can also be prepared very well in advance. It tastes especially delicious when the mozzarella is baked nicely golden brown. An absolute must for all casserole lovers!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 200 g Leaf spinach, frozen
  • 200 g Cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 200 ml Vegetable broth
  • 1 piece Onion(s)
  • 500 g Gnocchi from the refrigerated section
  • 300 g Chicken meat or turkey meat
  • Fat for frying
  • 125 g Mozzarella

Preparation (9 steps)

Chop onion

Put an onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./level 5. Push down with the spatula.

Sauté onion

Put some fat in the mixing bowl and sauté the chopped onion for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Fry chicken

Cut the chicken meat into small pieces and fry in a pan with some fat until it is cooked. Then set aside.

Prepare spinach

Put 200 g leaf spinach (frozen), 200 g cream, salt, pepper and some red Thai curry in the mixing bowl and bring to the boil for 5 min./90°C/level 2.

Add broth

Thermomix® Setting

Gradually pour 200 ml vegetable broth into the mixing bowl and stir for another 2 min./90°C/level 2.

Prepare gnocchi and chicken

Put 500 g gnocchi from the refrigerated section in a casserole dish. Add the fried chicken meat and mix.

Layer casserole

Spread the spinach sauce over the gnocchi and chicken meat in the casserole dish.

Add mozzarella

Cut a ball of mozzarella (approx. 125 g) into slices or tear into pieces and sprinkle over the casserole.

Bake casserole

Bake the casserole in a preheated oven at 180 °C circulating air for approx. 15 minutes on the middle rack until golden brown.
