Description

This Almond Granita is a refreshing treat, especially on hot summer days! I've been making it for years and it's always a hit. The combination of almonds and sugar, transformed into a creamy, icy delight, is simply irresistible. Perfect as a dessert or just as a snack. The preparation is super easy and with the Thermomix® it's even faster. A great recipe to impress your guests or to treat yourself! And best of all: it is vegan and gluten-free!

Ingredients (3 ingredients)

  • 200 g almonds
  • 100 g sugar
  • 650 ml water

Preparation (6 steps)

Chop almonds and sugar

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 10

Add 200 g almonds and 100 g sugar to the mixing bowl and chop for 20 sec/speed 10.

Make almond paste

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 8

Add 50 ml water and mix for 30 sec/speed 8 until a thick almond paste forms. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula and repeat the process.

Prepare almond milk

Place the almond paste in a large bowl. Add 600 ml water and stir well until the paste has completely dissolved.

Freeze

Place the almond milk in the freezer and freeze for about 3 hours.

Refine granita

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 5

Every 60 minutes, remove the frozen almond milk from the freezer and mix in the Thermomix® for 20 sec/speed 5 to break up the ice crystals and obtain a creamy consistency. Repeat this process 2-3 times.

Serve

Fill the Almond Granita into glasses and serve.
